You would think that the Alaska Board of Game would know what's in the best interests of the state's citizens regarding predator control. Does Connecticut, which is 3,000 miles away, know what's best for Alaska?
I'm hoping Gov. Palin will put a stop to such nonsense and go forward with Alaska's aerial wolf-control program. The planting of wolves back in Wyoming in the Yellowstone National Park several years ago has raised a lot of concern about predator control. These predators have migrated into western Nebraska, Montana, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon and Washington.
There are a lot of families in Alaska that depend on wild game for their main source of food. Are we going to help these families with predator control or let the Friends of Animals control our department of game?
