WATERVILLE, Maine - Colby College sophomore and 2005 Juneau-Douglas High School graduate Kelsey Potdevin was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III swimmer of the week for the week ending Feb. 4.

Potdevin posted an NCAA 'B' qualifying time of 59.93 second in winning the 100-yard backstroke on Feb. 3 against Bowdoin College. It was the first time she broke the one-minute barrier in the event.
She also set a school record with a winning time of 2:10.79 in the 200 backstroke. Potdevin also swam the anchor leg of the White Mules' winning 400 freestyle relay team. She made up more than one second on her competitor to win the race and meet for Colby.
She'll defend her New England Small College Athletic Conference 50 backstroke title on Feb. 16-18 at Williams College.
