JUNEAU - Rep. Max Gruenberg, an Anchorage Democrat, was back in Juneau Monday after spending nearly two months battling complications from surgery.
The 64-year-old Gruenberg is one of the senior members of the House and was welcomed back during the morning's floor session.
On Dec. 6, Gruenberg had surgery on his nasal passages to help relieve problems with sleep apnea, and afterward suffered complications like bleeding and dehydration.
Gruenberg serves on three House committees: Ways and Means; Judiciary and State Affairs.
He attended Monday's Judiciary Committee hearing, but his interim replacement Mike Doogan, also an Anchorage Democrat, remained in place to vote on bills until further notice.
