FAIRBANKS - The Fairbanks City Council voted this week to oppose the liquor license application of a bus service that provides transportation to bars.
Pub Line had hoped to serve alcohol aboard its vehicle for a low cost. But the Alcohol Beverage and Control Board did not embrace the idea Monday.
Mayor Terry Strle argued in the resolution that Pub Line is not compatible with economic revitalization efforts in the downtown area and police efforts to cut back on public inebriation.
But some compared Pub Line to a limousine service that allows its passengers to drink.
