Juneau Alpine Club Eagle Glacier Cabin trip: This is a medium-energy output, 10-mile trek lasting one to three days. Bring snowshoes, overnight gear, food and $10 for Juneau Alpine Club dues if you haven't paid for 2001 yet. Info: Trip leader Kathy Landry, 789-7058.

Ongoing/Meetings

Gastineau Channel Little League registration: Register your child for softball or baseball at the Nugget Mall. Registration is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday the weekends of Feb. 17-18 and March 3-4. Players new to the league must provide birth certificates. Juneau Parks and Recreation springboard diving clinic: Meets from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Feb. 13 through March 8 at Augustus G. Brown Swimming Pool. This $42 course teaches basic competitive springboard diving skills, concentrating on front and back approaches. Students must be comfortable diving off the low diving board. Info: Augustus G. Juneau Parks and Recreation adult coed volleyball players skills clinic: Meet on Sunday, Feb. 18, at Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School. From 2-4 p.m. clinic is for players in Coed Divisions I, 2 and 3-North. From 4-6 p.m. players from Coed Divisions 3-South, 4 and 5 meet. Juneau 4-H cross-country ski program: Meet from 1:30-3 p.m. every Sunday at locations TBA (call the University of Alaska Southeast Cooperative Extension Service for the location of that week's outing). The program is open to skiers in grades K-12, and parents are invited to participate. Membership fee for 4-H program is $6. Avalanche awareness classes: Upcoming avalanche awareness classes from the Southeast Alaska Avalanche Center are Juneau Level II, March 2-5. Mini-workshop for snowmachiners, Haines Snowmachine/Level I, March 16-18. Special snowmachiner discount this year. Info: Bill Glude, 586-5606.

Open Gyms

Youth open gyms: From 8-11 p.m. on Saturdays (2/17) at Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School, and from 8-11 p.m. on Fridays (2/16) at Floyd Dryden Middle School. No cost for students grades 5-12. Adult volleyball/basketball open gyms: at Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School, Cost is $4. From 7-9 p.m. on Sundays (2/18) and Fridays (2/16). Gastineau Channel Little League open gyms: Open gyms are on Sundays through March 18.
