Local student studies in Northern Ireland

Posted: Wednesday, February 13, 2002

Justin Anderson, an Earlham College junior and son of Jonathon and Mary Anderson of Juneau, is studying in Northern Ireland this semester as a member of Earlham's off-campus study programs.

Anderson will participate in cultural activities which include two weekend retreats, field trips and cultural excursions to Armagh, the Mourne Mountains and the Ulster American Folk Park. During a week-long trip to Dublin, students will focus on Irish history, culture and politics.

The Earlham program is based in Belfast and Londonderry, which is also known as Derry. In both cities, students take courses and engage in service work and community projects. Students live with local families in bed and breakfast arrangements.

Earlham College is a liberal arts college located in Richmond, Ind.
