A RESOLUTION

Expressing

the sense of the conference that the state should maintain a prudent balance in

the constitutional budget reserve fund.

 

BE IT

RESOLVED BY THE CONFERENCE OF ALASKANS:

style='font-size:12.0pt'>WHEREAS the constitutional budget reserve fund was

established by an amendment to the Alaska Constitution after a vote of the

people held at the 1990 general election;

style='font-size:12.0pt'>WHEREAS the constitutional budget reserve not only

provides a contingency fund for the operations of the State of Alaska, it is

also an integral component of maintaining the state’s credit rating and

that of the local communities throughout the state; and

style='font-size:12.0pt'>WHEREAS the state relies on the balance of the

constitutional budget reserve fund to meet its financial needs from time to

time.

 

style='font-size:12.0pt'>NOW THEREFORE LET IT BE RESOLVED that the state should

maintain a prudent balance in the constitutional budget reserve fund.
