Palmer courtrooms reopen after flooding

ANCHORAGE - After flooding last week when a frozen pipe burst, all six courtrooms in the state courthouse in Palmer are back in service, officials said.

Courtroom carpets were shampooed and dried in time for hearings Monday morning, Chief Deputy Clerk Debbie Miller said.

A cleanup crew expected to finish work Tuesday.

Ryan Montgomery, project manager for ServiceMaster of the Valley, last week said it could cost $20,000 to clean up the building.
