Middle school wrestling - Floyd Dryden Middle School hosts the Southeast Middle School Championships at the FDMS gym. Nine local teams will be competing, beginning today at 4 p.m. The action will begin again at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Gastineau Channel Little League registration - Volunteers will be at the Nugget Mall to register kids aged 5-16 from noon to 4 p.m. Online registration is available at www.juneaulittleleague.com. Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged.

Jambaars Soccer Camp - Jambaars Youth Soccer Academy is hosting a President's Day soccer camp February 16, 2009 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. at Dzantik'i Heeni Middle School gymnasium. Open to Elementary and Middle School Players U8 - U15. Camp is coached by Moctar Diouf and will provide for conditioning, fundamental/advanced skills building, and lots of scrimmage. Soccer referee course - USSF referee certification for new referees with soccer knowledge, and recertification for referee's certified in 2007 or 2008 will be offered in six sessions at the Mendenhall Library beginning Feb. 23 from 6-9 p.m. Additional sessions: Feb. 25, 26, 28, Mar. 4 and 7. Learn to fly fish - Learn fly casting, how to tie a very effective fly for Juneau, and where and when to fish roadside waters. Juneau Cheer Club offers elite snow removal - As long as there is snow, the Juneau Cheer Club will offer elite snow removal anywhere in Juneau from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on weekends and 4 to 7 p.m. on weekdays. Tornados Youth Wrestling Club registration - Registration for Tornados' wrestling, for boys and girls age 5-18 interested in learning wrestling skills, is now through March 15. Practice for age 5-18 will begin Jan. 12. Adult wrestlers and coaches are welcome and encouraged to participate. Youth referees needed - Juneau Parks and Recreation is looking for referees for the upcoming youth basketball season.
