Six members of the Juneau Ski Club picked up medals in Juneau's Olympic Qualifier Series Feb. 6-8 at Eaglecrest Ski Area.

Brian Vandor was the top Juneau finisher, taking the top time in men's giant slalom on Feb. 6 and adding the best time in men's slalom on Feb. 8.

Ali Eason added to JSC's team effort with a third place in her heat of women's slalom on Feb. 7. Ali Hiley also picked up a third place finish in her run of women's slalom on Feb. 8. Naomi Moritz finished third in her heat for women's giant slalom on Feb. 6, and added a second-place effort in her women' slalom run on Feb. 8.

Jack Withington placed third in his men's giant slalom run on Feb. 7 and added another third-place finish in men's slalom a day later.

Peter Peel picked up his own third-place medal during his Feb. 6 men's giant slalom run and another third in the men's slalom on Feb. 8.

For a small team, the JSC competed well against the Anchorage/Alyeska team, and they hope to bring home more "bling" after this weekend's races in Alyeska.

The Juneau Ski Club dedicated the Junior Olympic Qualifier Series to the memory of Brian and Brandon Andrews. Both were tragically lost in a plane accident last August.

Brandon had been a ski racer on the JSC team. Brian, along with his wife, Joyce, were involved parents with the JSC for many years. Joyce joined the team for the races and was a forerunner for the Feb. 7 slalom race.
