Floyd Dryden hosts SE wrestling tournament

Middle school wrestlers from nine southeast schools will converge on Floyd Dryden Middle School this weekend for the Southeast Middle School Championships. The meet will end the teams' seasons, which have run since shortly after Christmas break.

The tournament, which rotates annually between Ketchikan and Juneau, will feature roughly 180 competitors from Juneau, Ketchikan, Wrangell, Petersburg, Craig, Sitka, Yakutat, Thorne Bay, Kake and Pelican.

Weigh-ins for all schools begin today in the Floyd Dryden gym at 2:30 p.m. Two rounds of winners will compete in today's matches from 4-8 p.m.

Saturday's schedule follows:

10-11:30 a.m. - Consolation

11:30-1:30 p.m. - Semi-finals

1:30-2:30 p.m. - Consolation quarterfinals

2:30-4 p.m. - Cons. semifinals

4-5 p.m. - Consolation finals

5-6:30 p.m. - Championship finals
