Significant changes proposed downtown

Posted: Wednesday, February 14, 2001

On Monday night, the state Department of Transportation held a very well-attended public meeting for my neighborhood concerning the 10th and Egan intersection, including the Juneau-Douglas bridge. Significant changes are being proposed to this intersection which will affect everyone involved in the morning and evening commute to and from the downtown area. People using the Douglas Bridge will be affected as well. I urge anyone interested in receiving more information to contact Pat Carroll at DOT via phone, 465-1830, fax, 465-3506, or e-mail: The public comment period closes Friday, Feb. 16.

Thanks to state DOT engineers Chris Murray and Pat Carroll as well as to Heather Marlow of CBJ Community Development for responding so promptly and attending the meeting.
