Thankful for decision not to build a road

Posted: Tuesday, February 15, 2000

We would like to thank Governor Knowles for listening to the majority of us from Juneau, Haines, and Skagway who preferred improvement of our ferry service over building the road. For a variety of environmental, economic and safety reasons, as well as long-range community development rooted in the unique aspects of our home, we believe the Governor's choice serves a vision that celebrates Southeast Alaska.
