Letter-writing campaign to CSED needs help

Posted: Tuesday, February 15, 2000

Some time ago Mr. Nelson had a letter in the papers asking that the parents that have had problems with CSED write him a letter and tell their story, and he would forward the information to the grand jury. The idea was to get CSED and the Attorney General's office investigated. The A.G. was involved because that office has permitted CSED to bend, if not outright break, Alaskan law.

There were no less than 40 parents responding to his letter, and it was forwarded to the court system. I was one of the people that took the time to respond and have tried to keep track of what is happening on the request. At this time it appears that we are receiving the runaround and are getting nowhere with this request.

Mr. Nelson and I talked about this and the only thing we can come up with is to have each and every one write to the grand jury and send a copy of said letter to Mr. Nelson so we can keep track of what has been sent in. The other thing that we ask is that you also write to your representatives and request that an investigation take place as soon as possible. The sooner this is done the better.

As a by note, I have received a letter from CSED and I feel that it was in response to my name being on the request. If you have also received a letter please note it in your letter to your representatives.
