Robert P. Schenker graduated from Company Honorman at the rank of Lance Corporal from India Company 3rd Training Battalion, Recruit Training Regiment at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego on April 25, 2008. Schenker later graduated from Bravo Company, Infantry Training Battalion, School of Infantry, Camp Pendleton as a 0331 machine gunner. He is currently stationed at Marine Corps Base Hawaii as a member of a weapons company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division. Schenker will be deployed to the south central province of Helmund in Afghanistan in April.
University of Alaska Southeast Ketchikan students recently made the chancellor's and dean's lists for the fall 2008 semester. Richard Boyd and Robert Boyd made the chancellor's list, for which students must be admitted to a program, earn a 4.0 grade-point average and complete at least 12 credit hours to be honored. Linda Beaupre, Johnathan Bowerman, Charlene Burns, Rebecca Hannon, Janelle Hyatt, Paige Keith, Larissa Otness, Jennifer Ready, Tory Shultz, Ashley Smith, Jacqueline Sun and Cameron Taylor made the dean's list, for which students must be admitted to a program, earn a 3.5 grade-point average and complete at least 12 credit hours during the semester.
Aislinn W. Shaul-Jensen, a Sophomore from Douglas, was among the 962 undergraduate students named to the Gonzaga University president's list for fall semester 2008. Students must earn a 3.7 or better grade-point average to be listed.
Erika O'Sullivan and Megan Treston, of Juneau, were listed on the 2009 fall semester dean's list at the University of Portland. O'Sullivan is a sophomore, and Treston is a senior majoring in nursing. To make the dean's list, students much achieve a 3.5 grade-point average.
