ANCHORAGE - The application period for nonprofit groups to be included in the 2010 Permanent Fund Dividend Charitable Contributions Program began Feb. 13.
The program gives Alaskans the opportunity to use their PFD in a charitable way.
Charitable organizations, education institutions, community foundations and the campuses of the University of Alaska have until June 15 to fill out the necessary paperwork to be considered for inclusion in next year's Pick. Click. Give. program.
Every organization, including the 333 that were included in the 2009 program, must apply yearly to be a part of the program.
The PFD Charitable Contributions Program, or Pick. Click. Give., was established in 2007 by House Bill 166. The program is authorized for three years, at which time the Legislature will decide whether to continue it.
