JUNEAU - Several members of Juneau's Glacier Swim Club set meet records at the Mike Smithers Southeast Regional Championships, held Feb. 7-9 at Sitka's Blatchley Pool.
Juneau record-setters included:
Auri Clark, girls age 8 and under division, 25-yard butterfly (18.69 seconds) and 50-yard butterfly (42.84 seconds).
Kirk Fishel, boys age 15-18, 400-yard individual medley (4:22.29)
Paul Hughes, boys age 15-18, 200-yard breaststroke (2:13.00).
Kristin Jones, girls age 13-14, 500-yard freestyle (5:40.75).
Jones was also part of a record-setting GSC girls age 13-14 200-yard medley relay team that posted a time of 2:04.32. Kacey Klein, Helen Riemer and Julia Dicostanzo were also on the team.
Two members of the Haines Dolphins Swim Club set two meet records apiece:
Anna Szymanski, girls age 11-12, 50-yard backstroke (30.51) and 100-yard backstroke (1:05.34).
Genny Szymanski, girls age 13-14, 100-yard backstroke (1:01.65) and 200-yard backstroke (2:12.51).
The Glacier Swim Club won the team title at the meet, led by seven individual event victories by Kyle O'Brien, six by Hughes and five by Kelsey Potdevin.
