Someone should inform the sea lions in Auke Bay that they are not conforming to expectations by living there. Writers of previous letters implied that sea lions will not stay in an area with boat and ferry traffic, harbors, sewage discharge, construction or other human activities.
As we all know, Auke Bay is one of the most densely and heavily used bodies of water in this region. However, the sea lions I see in Auke Bay are not just passing through, they have been catching fish, living and playing there for the last three months. They have done this annually for as long as I can remember. How seriously can I take the cries of calamities in store for Berners Bay when I see such contrary indications with my own eyes in Auke Bay?
