Kempton and Straube to wed

Shannon Kempton of Juneau and Phelan Straube of Anchorage were married at 5 p.m., Dec. 12, 2004, at the Fourth Avenue Theatre in Anchorage.

She is the daughter of Kevin Kempton and Mary Bergander. She attended Juneau-Douglas High School and the University of Alaska. She is employed as a legislative aide for Sen. Ben Stevens.

He is the son of Steven Pankhurst and Glenda Straube. He attended West High School in Anchorage and is also employed as a legislative aide for Stevens.

Josephine Williams was the maid of honor. Best man was Grant Pankhurst. Bridesmaids included Erin Messing and Tiffany Lee. Groomsmen were Mica Pankhurst, Ji Kim, and Ian Fisk. Mike Pawlowski and Zach Warwick were ushers.

The couple honeymooned in Mexico, and will make their home in Anchorage.
