Glacier Valley Elementary School's Battle of the Books team poses Feb. 3 at Riverbend Elementary School after winning the competition for grades three and four. At halftime, the Glacier Valley team was ahead of the Mendenhall River team, 56-48. During the second half, Mendenhall River pulled even with the Glacier Valley team, tying for first place. The two teams had to answer three sudden-death questions to finally determine the winner. Glacier Valley came out victorious, answering correctly on the third tie-breaking question. From left, are fourth-grader Adrian Wilson, third-grader Forest Kobayashi, third-grader Zane Weiler and fourth-grader Johnny Elliot. Wilson and Elliot are from Chris Trostel's fourth, fifth and sixth Montessori class. Kobayashi and Weiler are in Cory Crossett's first, second and third Montessori class.
