ANCHORAGE - Alaska Olympic cross-country skier Kikkan Randall said she skipped Monday's 10-kilometer race to focus on the sprints.
Randall, skiing in her third Olympics, had been slated to ski in the race but used her Twitter feed Sunday to say she is bowing out to be more prepared for the classic sprint Wednesday.
The sprint is Randall's best event. She became the first American woman to win a World Cup event in a sprint race two years ago, a freestyle race.
