Ricardo Worl heads housing authority: Ricardo Worl, assistant vice president at National Bank of Alaska, moves this week to head the Tlingit-Haida Regional Housing Authority loan department. Worl replaces Kathy Jo Cook, who relocated to Newark, N.J., last month. Worl's background includes director and management positions with Cook Inlet Tribal Council, Alaska Native Education & Technical Assistance Center in Anchorage, and Sealaska Corp.
Bonnie Jo Savland joins central council: Tlingit & Haida Central Council hired Bonnie Jo Savland as the new manager of the business and economic development department, starting Feb. 8. Savland has 17 years professional experience in business finance, development and management. She worked with the Alaska Department of Commerce and Economic Development for more than 10 years. Savland replaces Catherine Edwards, who left the central council to attend the University of Alaska Southeast full-time.
Alaska Sightseeing Cruise West reorganizes: Alaska Sightseeing Cruise West is splitting into two independent divisions, one responsible for land operations and the other for cruise programs. John Kreilkamp will be general manager of the land division, known as Alaska Sightseeing. He will be headquartered in Anchorage. The cruise division will remain based in Seattle, and Capt. Del Blanchard has been named the new general manager of marine operations. The company is also expanding the number of departures of its seven-night adventure cruises between Ketchikan and Juneau.
Magazine features Juneau photographer's work: The work of Juneau photographer and videographer Jonathan ``Skip'' Gray is featured in the January-February issue of the national magazine Outdoor Photographer, which has a circulation of 210,000. Gray's article on photographing the Mendenhall Glacier is the magazine's choice for its ``Favorite Pieces'' column, which each month offers one photographer's practical tips about shooting a location that is his or her personal favorite.
Gray's photographs have appeared in The Los Angeles Times, Alaska Magazine, Alaska Geographic and National Geographic, among others.
