Mary Elizabeth Cesar

Juneau resident and lifelong Alaskan Mary Elizabeth Cesar, 86, died at Bartlett Regional Hospital on Jan. 12, 2004.

She was born Sept. 26, 1917, in Chilkoot (Haines) to Annie Joe and Theodore James. She was of the Raven moiety, Lukaax.adi clan. Her Tlingit name was Aakuxda.eit.

Friends and relatives of the Cesar family are invited to a 40-day dinner in memory of their mother and grandmother. The dinner will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Tlingit Haida Community Center, 3235 Hospital Drive.
