Joe Tompkins finishes second in downhill at U.S. Nationals

Juneau's Joe Tompkins claimed second place in the downhill competition of the United States Disabled Alpine Championships on Wednesday in Park City, Utah.

Tompkins took second in the seated skiers division with a time of 1 minute, 52.70 seconds. He finished 1.18 seconds behind champion Kevin Bramble.

On Tuesday, Tompkins claimed seventh place in the Super-G. Tompkins completed the course in 1:00.89.

The national championships finish today in Utah. Up next for the U.S. team are the Winter Paralympics on March 10-20 in Turin, Italy.
