JUNEAU - The Rotary clubs of Juneau will hold a "Pre-Spring Cleaning" food drive Saturday to help replenish stocks at the Southeast Alaska Food Bank.

Items will be collected from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Safeway, Super Bear and Alaska and Proud grocery stores.

The food bank needs canned or non-perishable packaged goods such as meats and tuna, beans, soups, peanut butter, fruit, canned juices, apple sauce, vegetables, packaged pasta, canned milk and packaged cereal. It cannot accept frozen, unpackaged, homemade or other perishable food.

Donors are encouraged to either buy a little extra during a regular trip to the grocery store or "pre-spring" clean out shelves at home, then bring items to collection locations.

Rotarians will also collect food donations before Saturday, the organization said.
