JUNEAU - Juneau's Emergency Management Director Mike Branum is leaving his city job for colder grounds.

After his last day on Feb. 27, Branum will head north to work as the operations manager for Fairbanks-based Warbelow's Air Ambulance.

Branum said his new schedule will allow him to spend more time with his family.

"I thoroughly enjoyed working for (Juneau city manager) Rod Swope and will miss the folks here a lot," he said. "This is an opportunity I just can't pass up."
