ANCHORAGE - Anchorage police said four pipe bombs were found inside a car during a routine traffic stop.

Anchorage television station KTUU reported Tuesday that the FBI does not believe the explosives were related to terrorist activity.

Two suspects were questioned by federal authorities after the 3 a.m. Tuesday traffic stop at the intersection of Northern Lights and Boniface Parkway.

The officer who stopped the car for a broken mirror saw what looked like four bombs inside the vehicle.

Anchorage police said the four bombs were "very powerful." They were destroyed.

Police said the 24-year-old and 27-year-old in custody were not being cooperative. Authorities also are awaiting a warrant to search an Anchorage house they said is related to the case.
