Painful points: The JDHS girls basketball team fell in their first two Southeast Conference games in a rowdy Ketchikan gym Jan. 30-31 by an average of 13.5 points per contest.

The Crimson Bears get their turn with the homecourt advantage Friday and Saturday when they host the Lady Kings for their final regular season games.

KayHi hosts JDHS again March 6-7 in a best-of-three series for the SEC crown and a trip to state.

Farewell flowers: This weekend's final home games against Ketchikan will technically include the Crimson Bears' senior night. The only "problem" is that the team does not have a senior to honor.

An unusually experienced roster of five juniors and five sophomores are wrapping up their second season as the core of a successful JDHS program. The Bears lost just one senior from a 2007-08 squad that posted a 20-5 overall record and placed fourth at the state tournament.
