Former Juneau resident Daniel Beerman died Feb. 5, 2010, in Queen Ann, Wash. He was 59.
Born Nov. 9, 1950, in West Linn, Ore., he was a Juneau resident for 15 years. A contracting officer, he worked hard at every job he ever did, his close friend, Barbie Smedley, wrote.
As he once said, "a jack of all trades, master of none," she added. "That was Dan, always adding in some funny wisecrack at the end of any sentence. Dan could be counted on to always be full of laughter, mischief, smiles, orneriness and compassion. He was always there for the people he held dear to his heart. Never turning someone in need down or looking the other direction, always looking at a situation straight on. He would always say, 'fix the problem, deal with it.' Dan was a no nonsense type of guy that told you like it was. He will be greatly missed by all his friends that became his family."
A remembrance gathering will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, on the eighth floor of State Office Building.
