Juneau police intercepted a woman on Valentine’s Day at Juneau International Airport and arrested her for suspicion of transporting heroin. As part of an investigation into the sale and distribution heroin, the department’s Drug Enforcement Unit (JPDDEU), with the assistance of the local office of the FBI and Southeast Alaska Cities Against Drugs (SEACAD), contacted Juneau resident Madelyn Brooks, 21, at the airport on Feb. 14 and say a search disclosed she was transporting heroin with an estimated street value of just under $40,000.

She was arrested for misconduct involving a controlled substance, a class A felony.
