In response to the letter about wolves in Gustavus, I have no sympathy for people who chose to live where there is wildlife be it Alaska or Eastern Washington and rattle snakes. These animals live here an you chose to live on their land, learn to share it with them.
I grew up in Southeast Alaska and had my horse in all the bays we logged in. We were taught by our father to respect the bears and wolves that lived in our area. We logged with respect for the land too - not as you see Southeast Alaska these days with everything taken and just a bald mountain left.
