Juneau Skating Club hosts its third skills challenge

The Juneau Skating Club hosted one of its biggest events of the season Sunday at Treadwell Arena.

Nineteen figure skaters competed in 10 categories in the third annual Basic Skills and Free Skate Competition.

In the Free Skate 6 competition, reserved for the club's most experienced athletes, Kayla Bishop edged Rebekah Badilla for first place. The two posted identical scores following their routines but Bishop earned the higher rankings from the individual judges.

The Juneau Skating Club will hold its annual Spring Recital on April 20. This spring's performance will feature a Wild Wild West theme.
