BETHEL - A 30-year-old man from the village of Kongiganak (kahn-GIG-uh-nuk) has been accused of shooting and killing his father.
Alaska State Troopers say late Tuesday, the village public safety officer received word that a man inside his home had fired a gun. When the VPSO arrived, he discovered that 64-year-old Kenneth David was dead. He had been shot once in the chest.
Gary David is being held at the correctional facility in Bethel. Troopers say he will be arraigned on a first-degree murder charge.
Kongiganak is a community of several hundred people 75 miles southwest of Bethel.
