City museum event to focus on Douglas Island gun

The Juneau-Douglas City Museum's Coffee & Collections series for this month will feature local researcher Mark Whitman presentation of "The Douglas Island Gun: Alaskan History Hiding in Plain Sight." The event will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28, at the museum.

Seated outside the Douglas library, the Douglas Island gun goes somewhat unnoticed. However, Whitman states that the gun is important part of Alaska history.

Coffee will be provided by Heritage Coffee Co.
