Men likely died of hypothermia

KOTZEBUE - Alaska State Troopers say two men lost for days in freezing weather likely died of hypothermia.

The bodies of 24-year-old Alan Atoruk and 27-year-old Loren Milligrock were found Tuesday.

The two Kiana men were reported overdue in Kotzebue last Friday.

Troopers say there were blizzard conditions when the report came in, and then temperatures dropped lower than 50 below zero.

The weather broke enough on Monday for an aerial search, and a snow cave and remains of a recent fire were found.

The men's bodies were discovered the following day.
