JUNEAU — Democrat Rep. Max Gruenberg of Anchorage will return to the legislature next week after successful heart surgery.
A statement from the Alaska House Democratic Caucus says two stents were removed during an operation in Anchorage.
According to the American Heart Association, stents are typically used to hold open a constricted artery after heart surgery.
Gruenberg, in office since 2003, currently serves as House Minority floor leader.
