Juneau resident Rita Ann Barclay, 56, died Feb. 17, 2002, in Juneau.
She was born on Aug. 28, 1945, in Kodiak, and lived in Juneau from 1950 until the late 1980s. She graduated in 1960 from Juneau-Douglas High School and married Duke Davis in 1963. She worked at the former BM Behrends Bank as a teller for several years and later assisted Duke in managing a tire business in the Valley. Duke and Rita divorced in 1981 and she later married Herb Barclay. They moved to Petersburg, where they owned and operated the Lighthouse Restaurant. After their divorce, she moved to Washington to be closer to her family. She moved back to Juneau in March 2001, to become a resident of Wildflower Court.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Loran Wesley Nelson and Michael Shea Nelson; mother Frances Katherine Nelson; and father Elmer Wesley Nelson.
She is survived by her daughter Tracy Kubley, her husband Don and their children Dylan and Devyn Nicole Kubley, Juneau; son Wesley Davis and his children Danielle and Corey Davis, Calif.; sister Laurie Hann, her husband Larry and their children Nichole and Rochelle Hann, Washington; brother Patrick Lee Nelson, Washington, and his children Sheri Morford and Rita Dickson, California; and brother Ronald Wayne Nelson and his wife Thea, Juneau, and their sons Anthony Wayne Nelson, Washington, and Andrew Loran Nelson, Juneau.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 22, 2002, at Wildflower Court. Her family said that friends, family and all others who want to pay final respects are welcome.
