...for the support.
The Feb. 1 Musical Secrets Juneau Symphony concert was an incredible success. The musicians and board of the Juneau Symphony thank all of our patrons for their patience as the hall filled to capacity and everyone found seats before the downbeat.
We are indebted to ExxonMobil for its sponsorship of the Secrets concert. Without this corporate support, we couldn't produce our concerts, as ticket sales cover only 1/3 of the costs of each concert. Thanks to ExxonMobil for making it all happen.
We also thank actors Alice Wiley Pickett, Patrick Moore, Roblin Davis and Zach Falcon for bringing Hindemith's vision to life during Symphonie Mathis der Maler, and KTOO, Greg Chaney, Pat Race, Gage Choat, Aaron Suring, Lucid Reverie and the Jump Society for their expertise in projecting our images onto the overhead screen during the concert so that every seat in the hall had an excellent view of the stage. Special thanks to Bruce Simonson, Roald Simonson, and Albert McDonnell for working so hard to improve the auditory and visual experience for our patrons.
Additional thanks are due to the Juneau Empire, for its continued support of our Concert Conversations series; to Grayline of Alaska and driver Floyd Spinner for providing transportation for our visiting musicians; to the many Juneau homes that opened to house these musicians; to Drew Gruening and Peter Anderegg for their assistance getting our equipment to Centennial Hall; to our excellent house manager Llewellyn Lutchansky and her capable crew of assistant house manager Alec Carson, Bob Rose, Paula Spreter, Doreen Hogins, Leo Lutchanksy, Bill Johnson, Elizabeth Selfridge, Sue Oliphant, Jo and Fred Boehme, Winifred Weber, Pauline Zheng, Adrian and Joey Bosworth, and Dan Beason; and to Emily Hemenway and her technical crew.
Our special 40th birthday celebration concert will take place Saturday, April 5th. This concert will feature Russian pianist Alexander Tutunov, the Juneau Student Symphony, and Franz Felkl, the winner of our 2003 Youth Concerto Competition. With such a full program, we're sure to fill Centennial Hall to capacity again, so be sure to get your tickets early.
