Thanks, Rendezvous, for a successful DELTA fundraiser

Thank you to The Rendezvous for a very successful fundraiser for AWARE's DELTA Project. During First Friday in December, Dec. 4, 2009, The Rendezvous raised more than $1,500 for Domestic Violence Prevention Enhancements and Leadership Through Alliances (DELTA), Juneau's violence prevention program.

Along with this cash donation, The Rendezvous held a pledge drive inviting community members to bid on a trip to the Icy Straight Point in Hoonah or rock climbing passes for children and adults at the rock dump and other experiences that enhance the lives of children.

DELTA's goal is to prevent interpersonal and sexual violence and to work toward community health, wellness and accountability. The generosity, creativity and service of The Rendezvous in the "Building the Future" event proved a great success and act of community ownership for prevention efforts.

If you are reading this and are interested in learning more about intimate partner violence prevention or if you or someone you know was victimized and would like support, contact AWARE at 586-6623.

Thank you again to the co-owners Erik Emert and Deb Barry, of The Rendezvous, for your consistent demonstration of business support for a healthy Juneau community. AWARE appreciates your support in working to end violence against women.
