Sex abuser who posed as cop gets 45 years

ANCHORAGE - A man who sexually assaulted several women while posing as a police officer has been sentenced to 45 years in prison.

Airjetis Espinal of Eagle River was sentenced for assaulting multiple women, raping one of them and attempting to sexually assault another in 2007.

The attacks occurred on the same day. Police found a 22-year-old woman on the side of the street who said she had accepted a ride from Espinal. When she got in his car, the man told her he was a police officer and to take off her clothes.

Police say she got away, but Espinal shot at her as she ran.
