ANCHORAGE - Alaska state troopers say they're investigating vigilantes who made a citizen's arrest of a couple suspected of burglaries in the Kenai Peninsula's Anchor Point area.
Troopers found the young man and woman Monday bound with zip ties. Another man complained he was roughed up by vigilantes.
Troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters says troopers are trying to sort it all out.
The suspects are blamed for at least nine burglaries since December in which food, guns and jewelry were taken from cabins.
The Anchorage Daily News reported angry residents held a meeting last week and discussed forming a posse.
Two men, Mark Cocke and Glen Showalter, told troopers Monday they were going on patrol.
They found and detained a 15-year-old girl and her 20-year-old boyfriend, Chaunce Hoxie, and turned them over to troopers.
Hoxie was jailed in Homer on warrants for failing to appear in court and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
