Former Juneau residents Darcy Anne Mitchell and Richard Anderson are pleased to announce their engagement and upcoming marriage on Aug. 5, 2006, in Hood River, Ore. They went to school together from elementary through high school, both graduating in 1997 from Juneau-Douglas High School with art honors.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Capt. Kelly and Gayle Mitchell of Lake Stevens, Wash. She graduated from the Emily Carr Institute of Art in Vancouver, British Columbia, and is employed as enrichment director for Tacoma's YMCA.
The groom-elect is the son of Richard and Delores Anderson of Hood River, and Dianne Anderson and Mark Vinsel of north Douglas. He graduated magna cum laude from Cogswell College in Sunnyvale, Calif., majoring in computer imaging. He is employed as a multimedia designer for Artifex in Tacoma, Wash.
The maids of honor will be the bride's twin sisters, Paige and Lisa.
The best man will be Ryan's brother, Robert Bo Anderson.
The couple will continue to make their home in Tacoma after honeymooning in Venice, Italy.
