JUNEAU - Rotary clubs of Juneau and the Juneau Rotaract Club will sponsor a "Pre-Spring Cleaning" food drive for the Southeast Alaska Food Bank on Saturday, Feb. 28, at the following locations: Carrs/Safeway, 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m.; Super Bear, 10:30 a.m.-4 p.m.; Alaskan & Proud market, 10:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; and Fred Meyer, 10:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
When you shop for groceries, buy a little extra for those in need and donate it at any of the four locations above on Saturday. If you have extra non-perishable food at home, bring your donation to one of the collection locations on Saturday, or, if you know a rotarian, call him or her and connect for your donation anytime before Feb. 28, or drop by any of the locations above on Feb. 28.
The Food Bank is looking for canned or non-perishable packaged goods such as meats and tuna, beans, soups, peanut butter, fruit, canned juices, apple sauce, vegetables, packaged pasta, canned milk, packaged cereal, etc. The Food Bank cannot accept frozen, unpackaged, home-made, or other perishable food.
