Trail Mix Inc., the nonprofit stewards of Juneau's trails, would like to thank everyone who attended our gala auction to benefit our work on the Treadwell Ditch Trail. More than 220 people attended the event, which raised more than $17,000 thanks to the generosity of Juneau's trail community.
We especially thank our auctioneer, Steve Allwine of Mendenhall Auto Group, who helped make the live auction more successful than ever before. Thanks also to Sharon Malaby, whose assistance on stage made the most of each item. Merrill and Kristie Jensen from the Jensen-Olsen Arboretum deserve special praise for their phenomenal table centerpieces. The unsung heroes of the night were the Jesuit Volunteer Corps members who helped set up the room, and the Americorps volunteers who helped clean hundreds of dishes at the end of the night - thank you.
Finally, we are extraordinarily grateful to the many local businesses who contributed items for the live and silent auctions, and encourage everyone to thank them personally for their support of Juneau's Trails: AJ Mine Gastineau Mill, Alaska General Store, Alaska Industrial Hardware, Alaska Marine Lines, Alaska Natural History Association, Alaska State Parks, Alaska Wild Salmon Co., Alaskan Brewing Co., Annie Kaill's, Balance Climbing, Ben Franklin Store, Best Western Grandma's Feather Bed, Bob Garrisson, Chan's Thai Kitchen, Chief Eric Mohrmann and Capital City Fire Rescue, Coastal Helicopters, Costco Wholesale, Don Abel Building Supply, Dr. Cathy Connor, Eaglecrest, ERA Helicopters, Foggy Mountain Shop, Foreign Auto Repair, Fr.
