Eaglecrest Ski Area, Juneau: Platter, Ptarmigan and Hooter lifts operate about 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday through Monday. The tubing hill and terrain park are closed.
About 11 inches of snow is at the day lodge, 18-24 inches is on trails and 59 inches is at the top of the mountain. Snow is thin in many places and West Bowl trails are closed to all but experts. Hazards such as exposed stumps and bushes exist throughout the area and caution is advised.
The ski and snowboard school, restaurant, and repair and rental shop are open. The ski school offers ski and snowboard lessons beginning at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. when Eaglecrest is open.
