ANCHORAGE - An Anchorage man faces assault and misconduct involving a weapon charges after accidentally shooting his wife.
Police said 23-year-old Joshua Gifford was charged following the early Friday shooting. His wife, Talisha Gifford, was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said Talisha Gifford was driving her husband and his friend home after a night of drinking. Police said Joshua Gifford was handling a semiautomatic pistol when it went off about 3:30 a.m., hitting his wife in the side.
The couple's infant was in the car but not injured.
