ANCHORAGE — The National Park Services says a federal tribal programs manager has been tapped to serve as the federal agency’s Alaska regional native liaison.

Jean Gamache is scheduled to start her new position March 13 in Anchorage.

Park officials say Gamache has worked for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency more than 13 years in Anchorage and San Francisco.

Gamache is a member of the Central Council of Tlingit and Haida Indian tribes of Alaska.

Park Service officials say she has been a tribal representative to the EPA’s National Environmental Justice Council and the National Tribal Operations Committee.
