Who's pulling the strings?
Apparently Phyllis Lewis (Empire, Feb. 23) didn't see my "peace march" sign: "War by presidential discretion is exactly unconstitutional and fully un-American."
My sentiment comes not from some "Peace Now" special interest group in the Lower 48, but from the Constitution of the United States of America.
We would have had more options to succor the oppressed of the world if the U.S. hadn't spent the largest amount of funds in history on weapons of mass destruction, but instead spent a bit on the methodologies and institutions of civilized handling of social evil in the international community.
Killing has always been viewed as the simplest and apparently most efficient solution to human irrationality - in this, humanity hasn't changed since civilization began.
