JUNEAU - A local peace group plans a forum and workshop on nonviolence this week.
Juneau People for Peace and Justice's public forum "Violence in Juneau and Nonviolent Response" will be 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Northern Light United Church, 400 West 11th St. Panel members will include Superior Court Judge Larry Weeks, therapist Dixie Hood, pediatrician George Brown, former Sealaska Heritage Foundation director David Katzeek, community activist Ric Iannolino and Juneau-Douglas High School Student Body President Michael James.
The workshop and training session on nonviolence will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at the Marie Drake library and continue from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. It will feature Paul Colbert of Nevada Desert Experience, a nonviolent activist.
