Volunteers for Celebration sought
Sealaska Heritage Foundation is recruiting volunteers for Celebration 2000, coming up June 1-3. The organization is seeking volunteers with publication and research experience to help with a commemorative publication. Other volunteers are sought for event preparation and the celebration itself.
The Southeast Alaska Native cultural event attracts several thousand dancers, artists and visitors to Juneau every other year. Dinner, auction benefits charities
The Coast Guard Women's Association will host its annual charity auction and dinner fund raiser at 6 p.m. March 4 at The Prospector Hotel, 375 Whittier Street.
The dinner will be followed by a free auction at 7:00 pm. The cost of the dinner is $12 per person. Tickets can be purchased at the Prospector Hotel front desk on a first-come, first-served basis.
TK Maguires will be cater the meal, offering a full Italian dinner buffet. Coffee and hot tea are included in the price. There will be a no-host bar available in the lounge. No reservations are needed for the auction, which features services and merchandise donated by area businesses. All proceeds will go to local charities.
